Sim: Reid Family

This is my entry for Mystiks's Mr. & Mrs. Valentines Contest.

 This is the story about two strangers who fell in love, pushed through tragedy and made that tragedy into something amazing. This is the story of Mason Reid and Melody Jackson.

It all began on Valentines Day at the local bistro in town. Most people wouldn't be caught dead going on a blind date, late alone a Valentines Day blind date! Talked into it by friends, the lucky twosome was a man named Mason and a woman named Melody.

You would have guessed that they had been lifelong friends by how well they got along. It was so easy for them to talk to each other that a friendship quickly began.



They spent everyday together going dancing at local clubs, going to the movies and spending time at the beach. It was there that they shared their first kiss. They were playing in the water when Mason put his arms around Melody, looked into her eyes and kissed her.

It didn't take long til the two fell head over heels in love for each other. In all actuality, they had been in love with each other for quiet some time.

Things were going perfectly between the two until the night Melody went to the new club in town, she didn't know it at first but they place was swarming with vampires. Vampires were new to the town and not many people knew much about them. They did not know that like humans, their are good vampires and there a bad vampires. Scared and unsure of what to do, Melody went into the restroom. It was there that an evil vampire grabbed her and sunk her teeth into Melody's arm.

Scared and confused, she ran home and cried at the dining table.

Later that night Mason stopped by the house, he was worried why Melody was not answering her phone. He could see Melody through the window as he walked up to open the door. It was locked. Through the window he asked her what was wrong, why she wouldn't let him into the house to talk.

She finally let him in and and told him about what happened, about how she was feeling the sickness that comes with turning. She told him that she was so scared that if she turned into a vampire that she would hurt him. How could a vampire and a human be together? Was she going to be dead? Could she ever have children? She told him these things through the sobs and then told him that he would be better off without her. That she was a monster. It was then  that she told him to leave, that she couldn't live with herself if she bit him.

A few night later Melody turned.

Heartbroken and alone, a month had passed since Mason had spoken to Melody. He had spent the last few nights talking with people who knew more about vampires. He learned the truth about what they are and that they are not all bad. It was then that he decided that the only way to be with the love of his life was to turn into a vampire too.

That night, Mason went over to Melody's and showed him what he had become. She was outraged at first but he explained to her that he had met the local vampires and that only a handful are bad. That he chose to become a vampire to spend forever with her.

Tears streaming down their faces, they both knew that nothing could stop their love. Not even themselves.

A year later, after they had figured the ins and outs of their new vampire lives, Mason proposed to Melody.

She of course said yes!

They had a small wedding on the beach under the stars. The same beach their first kiss was.

That was one thing about their new vampire lives, planning everything around the sun!

The two giddy newlyweds were so excited to be in each others arms, as Mr. and Mrs. Reid.

They knew that their love was strong and everlasting. Vampires, shmampires. They held each other and talked in bed for hours and hours. They finally realized that they had spend their entire honeymoon night talking! Giggling and smiling, Melody blurted out that she wanted to have a child. Mason leaned over a kissed her agreed and rose petals flew in the air!

*rock-a-bye baby*

The next couple of days Melody ran back and forth between the restroom. Wondering if she ate something bad it hit her. Could she be pregnant?

She made an appointment at the doctors office and when she came home she called Mason into the room. Glowing and bursting with excitement she told Mason that he was going to be a father.

On February 14th their beautiful daughter, Isabella, was brought into the world. It was a long, grueling  home labor, but well worth it to see her beautiful little face.

Its almost been a whole year since baby Isabella was born. The Reid family is as happy as can be with their little vampire family.

Who would have thought those years ago at the bistro, that the cute little couple would have ended up like this! From a blind date, to falling in love. Their lives were torn apart only to be brought back together, stronger than ever. Then to bring it full circle, they had a Valentines baby.
